Tuna Extract is similar to the discontinued L030.
Produced via enzyme accelerated hydrolysis (otherwise known as pre-digestion) of bi-products, tuna extract offers good nutritional quality much like other highly soluble and digestible fish proteins that also serve as a good attractor.
Tuna extract is potent and dark in colour and is sourced from the western central pacific (FAO area 71). It has higher salt content than other fish protein hydrolysates at 12.9% with a protein content of 52% and a moisture content of 32% and a low lipid (Fat) content. However, much like most other marine resources, may be subject to negligible variation in nutritional profile, the range of which is in the accompanied product specification. Antioxidant properties are also an advantage of tuna proteins.
With regards to fish and shellfish allergy and hypersensitivity, HACCP principals should be applied to prevent allergy risk and due to the nature and origin of the material used. Careful handling of the pungent concentrate product should be exercised.
7568 tuna extract - thick liquid is packaged in a hermetically sealed container and conforms to EC regulations 178/2002 and 852/2004 and does not contain any GM ingredients or processing aids under EC regulations 1829/2003 and 1830/2003.
